Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup milk
8 ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
1 ½ cups chocolate sandwich cookies (about 15–18 cookies), crushed
Optional: extra cookies, crumbled for garnish
Instructions
1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks. Set aside about ½ cup for garnish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
3. Add milk and beat on low speed until just combined.
4. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping using a rubber spatula until no streaks remain.
5. Fold in most of the crushed cookies, reserving some for garnish.
6. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl or individual ramekins. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours.
7. Before serving, sprinkle reserved crushed cookies on top. Serve chilled.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Chill for at least 2-4 hours for best texture. Overnight chilling yields optimal flavor. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cream cheese, whipped topping, and milk. For gluten-free, use gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookies.
