Ingredients
4 glazed donuts (plain glazed recommended, day-old works best)
4 slices cheddar cheese (or 1 cup shredded, sharp or mild)
8 slices bacon (cooked until crispy)
2 tablespoons butter (unsalted, softened)
2–4 tablespoons maple syrup (pure maple syrup)
Instructions
1. 1. Cook bacon until crispy; drain on paper towels.
2. 2. Slice each donut in half horizontally.
3. 3. On bottom half of each donut, layer 2 slices cheese, 2 slices bacon, drizzle 1/2-1 tsp maple syrup, then top with 2 more slices cheese. Place top donut half on.
4. 4. Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
5. 5. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
6. 6. Place sandwiches in skillet; cook 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese melted.
7. 7. Gently press with spatula while cooking.
8. 8. Serve immediately, optionally with extra maple syrup.
Notes
Use day-old donuts for best structure. Keep heat medium-low to prevent burning. Ensure bacon is extra crispy for texture contrast. For storage, wrap tightly and refrigerate up to 2-3 days; reheat in skillet or air fryer for best crispness. Do not microwave.
