This Pizza Grilled Cheese with Hidden Valley Ranch combines the best of two comfort food classics into a quick, kid-friendly meal. With crispy sourdough, melty mozzarella, zesty pizza sauce, pepperoni, and a creamy ranch kick, it’s a lifesaver for busy weeknights that brings smiles in under 20 minutes.

  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 4 sandwiches 1x

Ingredients

Scale

8 slices sourdough or Texas Toast bread

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup pepperoni slices

1/4 cup pizza sauce

24 tablespoons Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

1. 1. In a small bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the garlic powder and dried oregano.

2. 2. Lay out four slices of bread on a clean surface. Generously brush one side of each slice with the seasoned butter mixture. (Buttered side will be exterior.)

3. 3. Flip those four buttered slices over so unbuttered sides face up. Spread about 1/2 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly on each of these slices.

4. 4. Divide half of the shredded mozzarella among the four slices. Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.

5. 5. Drizzle about 1/2 tablespoon of Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing over the pepperoni on each slice. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

6. 6. Take the remaining four slices of bread. Brush one side of each with the seasoned butter mixture. Place these buttered-side-up slices on top of the cheese and pepperoni layers, forming sandwiches.

7. 7. Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

8. 8. Carefully place the assembled sandwiches into the hot skillet. Cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until bread is golden brown and crispy, and cheese is fully melted and gooey. Adjust heat as needed.

9. 9. Remove from skillet. Slice diagonally. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use medium-low heat to prevent burning. Butter edge-to-edge for even browning. Don’t overstuff; keep fillings balanced. Let sandwiches rest 1-2 minutes before slicing to prevent cheese from oozing out. Store leftovers in fridge up to 3 days; reheat in oven (350°F for 10 min), air fryer (325°F for 5-8 min), or skillet over medium-low heat.
